Below are some new opportunities for environmental journalism grants, workshops and awards from Mekong Matters/EJN, our partners, and others. This includes an upcoming training in Vietnam, focusing on the Mekong Delta.

MEKONG OPPORTUNITIES & RESOURCES:

Mekong Delta Journalism Training: Mekong Matters is supporting the event “Mekong Water Security Risks and Narratives in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta” in Can Tho City, Vietnam on May 29-30. Join regional journalists and scientific/government/community experts to learn about the impacts of climate change and hydropower and other development on water, food and communities. The event is sponsored/facilitated by Internews’ Earth Journalism Network, Can Tho University, PanNature, the Embassy of Sweden to Vietnam, Vietnam Forum for Environmental Journalists, USAID and CEPF.  There are still three spots open for journalists from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar or Thailand. Please email a statement of your interest and experience to: [email protected] by Monday May 15, or contact her for more info on the agenda. 

Mekong ICT Camp:. Journalists, technical specialists, activists work together using technology and information to solve development issues in the Mekong region at the bi-annual Mekong ICT Camp in Cambodia. Apply by May 25.

Land issues course: Summer School on Land Relations in the Mekong Region, 24-28 July 2017 by the Mekong Land Research Forum. Apply to attend a week-long intensive summer school program on land research in the Mekong Region. Apply by May 31
